The Sea Base Ship Store - What they have, prices and photos!
If you've got an upcoming trip to Sea Base planned, you may wonder what items you can
buy once you get there, rather than pack and carry them. Or what if you forget something? The base
operates a "ship store" sort of like a military commisary. It is stock with all sorts of items, from
toiletries, sunscreens, clothing, to snorkels, masks, snacks ice cream, drinks and many, many souvenir items.
This page has photos and price info to help give you a
better idea what to expect.

Overview of the Photos and 2026 Prices
Most of the Sea Base-branded souvenir items (shirts, hats, mugs, etc) were very expensive. As were the drinks and ice cream bars (but hey, when you're Florida hot, you can't resist them, anyway). That said, there were some bargains, like shirts with Sea Base logos on the clearance rack for $12.50 each. And some of the toiletries were reasonable, under $5. Good to know, if you forgot to pack something. Most of the gear (snorkels, masks, etc.) fell into the middle - price was about average, but the quality wasn't as good alternatives on Amazon or REI.
As you look through the photos and info below, the links will take you to a page with options for the same or better quality for a lower price. Of course, for logo'd stuff, you have to get that at the Ship Store, either in person or on their online store.
Gear
Inflatable mattresses: Oddly, they don't appear to sell sleeping bag liners or this version of a sleeping bag liner, both are very popular. I didn't see any inflatable air mattresses in the store, but this one is so much better anyway: Self-inflating foam mat. Most of our crews perferred it over others, like the folding foam sleeping pads, Therm-a-Rest, a purely inflatable air mattress or Klymit Static V .
Snorkels: $26, open top, NOT dry top; not recommended for anyone other than experienced snorklers.
Everyone I saw used this Cressi Supernova dry snorkel.
Generic Masks ($35) are located beneath the snorkels in the plastic cartons.
Better Snorkels and Masks
for the same price
are available online like this
Cressi F1 Frameless Mask,
or a
Generic inexpensive mask
Lotions: sunscreen, aloe and more, Blue Lizard $26.00,
or get it at Costco or online for less:
Blue Lizard Sport SPF 50 Lotion
or
Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen
Snacks - Loads of snacks, most go for $2.50 to $4.50. We went to a Publix near our hotel the night before we went to Sea Base and loaded up on nuuts, dried fruit and some snacks that didn't mind the heat like wafers.
More Snacks
Water Bottles, with Sea Base logos $25.00+, coffee mugs were VERY expensive. But Nalgene is pricy everywhere, even online, Nalgene 32 oz BAP-Free Wide Mouth Water Bottle but you can get carabiners and an Insulated matching insulated carrier / coozy and the Nalgene wide mouth to drinking spout adapter.
Waterproof bags - Duffle bags: The Sea Base logo'd (but not waterproof) duffle bag is $60 - $70. You can get a waterproof backpack Duffle bag for about $25. The smaller ones could be used as Waterproof phone pouches albeit at a much hight price.
Toiletries
Prices: Gold Bond $3.74; Shaving cream $3. 13, Tampax $5.99, Bonine 24 tablets,
$9; Dramamine less drowsy fpormula $8.49;
2 disposable razors $3.75; deodorant $3.13;
Ear plugs
and
snore strips,
Eye shade sleep mask
Polarized sunglasses, $10+
Floating straps, actually not bad in the ship store at $8 for floating or plain straps $7
Hawaiian Luau shirt are $35, Nearly
identical shirts sold elsewhere are about
1/3 the price. I like this
luau shirt, but this
shirt is super cheap
Other (non-Hawaiian) shirts were $40 to $95; YIKES!
But do be sure to CHECK the clearance shelf!!! Great
bargains there on souvenir Sea Base shirts.
Hats and ball caps, $47.50 each. OK, these have logos and are really souvenirs... soooo...
Neck Gaiter (aka, a "Buff"). I never used mine. The long-sleeve shirt with a hoodie protected my head and neck while I was snorkeling, and my Wide-brimmed sun hat did the same while out of the water.
Where is the Ship Store

The Ship Store is located in the Quarterdeck, which is a covered area of picnic tables under a blue building.
On the top floor of that building is the Sea Base ship store which you enter from the back left corner and exit from the back right corner going up and down stairs.
Here is a map and layout of the base and the various stations and locations you will need to know.
